Victoria Gaines, a nurse, freelance writer, and former Stephen Minister, was born and raised in Georgia, making Atlanta her home for nearly 27 years now. Her writing desires seem best expressed with a quote from Philip Yancey: “I became a writer because I saw that writing could penetrate into the crevices, bringing spiritual oxygen to people trapped in airtight boxes.” Her humble musings began as the family newsletter and personal writing ministry, which grew over the years into devotional writing for publication.
Known by friends and family as ‘Vicki,’ her words flow from a heart that is learning to depend on Christ as her life. In a world filled with pseudo-spirituality, devoid of true meaning and purpose, she prays her words will shed glimmers of hope as she reminds others of the grace and truth found in Jesus Christ alone. No stranger to adversity, she writes with passion about spiritual healing, Christian growth, and women’s issues, particularly.
Vicki’s devotionals appear in compilation books such as A Cup of Comfort Devotional: Daily Reflections to Reaffirm Your Faith in God (Adams Media), and Pinches of Salt, Prisms of Light: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories (Everson/Leal). She writes for Comfort Café (http://comfortcafe.net) and the devotional blog called Windows to My Soul (see below), while submitting to various other publications.
