Mary Hill was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1967. After earning a degree in journalism in 1989, Mrs. Hill worked for five years for a triweekly newspaper:
The Georgetown Times. During her tenure with
The Time, Mrs.Hill won several awards for her articles and photographs.
In 1996, Mrs. Hill decided to return to graduate school to study to become a school librarian. After three years working as a media specialist in a high school and then a middle school, however, Mrs. Hill married her husband, Richard Hill, and had a little baby, named Katie Rose.
Now, she is a full-time, stay-at-home mother, working on developing a career as a novelist and children’s book writer. Mrs. Hill currently lives with her family in Abbeville, SC.
