Seven Promises from Your Husband: #5

I am committed to demonstrating my love for you openly, honoring you with words and deeds.
21 years ago on a sunny February day, I stepped off a bus and into my future. I was placed in the life of the most influential person I will ever know intimately. Our hearts were forever fused and Christine Marie Breden became my wife two years later. My wife is, as I call her, “the love of my life”, and she is the one person I desire to be with more than anybody else. From the day I married Christine I have tried to speak well of her in all occasions and praise her whenever I can. With great joy, I have made it a point to honor her by never belittling the marriage covenant we share.
The husband of Proverbs 31 is an example of a man of praise, observe the way he honors his wife.
“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all”
Prov. 31:28- 29).
He has a covenant woman and he is going to make some noise about it.
When I flesh out promise #5, I believe I make a stand and a statement. This is my wife, I’m in love with her and I’m proud of her, I will not be moved from this chosen relationship. This shouts of covenant love and puts me in agreement with God’s Word.
Reflect on the words of Genesis and echoed by Christ: “Man shall cleave to his wife,” “The two shall become one flesh" and “What God has put together, let no man put asunder.” (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5,6).
It also establishes a position of trust for my bride. It allows her to be free to share openly with me knowing that I value the person she is. I can help empower my partner to grow in all areas of her life by acknowledging the importance and impact she has on my life and that of others. I am still learning to be a man of praise like the one in Proverbs, my wife is that important to me. Covenant marriage is the most wonderful adventure there is and I’m glad that I am on that journey with my “love of my life”.
Blessings, Jay
You are the love of my life
And I'm so glad you found me
You are the love of my life
Baby put your arms around me
I guess this is how it feels
When you finally find something real
My angel in the night
You are my love
The love of my life
