Prayer that Presses in

"Whenever we insist that God should give us an answer to prayer we are off track. The purpose of prayer is that we get ahold of God, not of the answer." ~ Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
A headache has kept me bedbound and unable to think straight the past couple days. Thankfully, my old friend Oswald Chambers comes to my aid once again.
Today I read how we often look for earth-shaking events or visions from heaven to see God's power in answer to our prayers. When they don't come, we feel dejected, depressed, and blame God.
"Yet we never realize that all the time God is at work in our everyday events and in the people around us. If we will only obey, and do the task that He has placed closest to us, we will see Him," Chambers concludes.
Press in to Him through prayer, dear friend. Let His Word speak to you. May we look to His beating heart, not just His generous hand, as we learn to trust Him in every circumstance.
