It Is Well With My Soul!

by Paul Dawn
Published July 25, 2006

Sitting here this morning with the windows open, breeze blowing, the smell of fresh rain, a cleansing in the air and in the spirit. I feel really at peace this morning and as the song of old, It is well with my soul.

As I sit here by the oil lamp, meditating and thinking, I have a sense that my Father and I are having quality time together. It has been awhile since I have had that feeling.

No music, no computer, just the stillness of the morning, a quietness of the soul and an inner awareness of the Holy Spirit, that all is in order, that the axiety, the fears, are covered by His presence and He says to rest, to be still and know that He is indeed God, a Father that watches over us 24/7 and He is calling us to walk with Him, to walk in the fullness of who He is.

I am learning that all that we go through, how we react to it, is what molds and shapes us as we call out to Him! I am also learning that each day we are given the opportunity to touch someone’s life, with hope, with peace, with rest, when they see the light of Christ shining forth.

To allow the Christ within, to be seen in our eyes, in our heart, that the compassion is born out of a relationship with the Lord.

Our eyes, like mirrors should reflect the Lord, the inner working of the Holy Spirit, that we are being changed within and as we are changed, it will also effect those around us, as they see that reality working in us, even now, not down the road, right now, we are being transformed by the renewing of our mind, our heart, we are being molded and set free in Christ.

As we yield to the Lord, the Spirit begins to build the character of Christ in our lives. We begin to see with His eyes, hear with His heart, and have a compassion that is born out of His love, revealed in us and we become His hands extended,to a world that is looking for hope.
