In Fear There Is No Love!

There seems a real battle with believers when it comes to finding peace. Our hearts and minds struggle daily to capture emotional balance. We struggle with things of this world, and in doing so we allow fear to filter in to our lives. Fear comes where none existed.

Fear of God is good. Fear alone destroys.

1 John 4:18-21, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also."

We must discern between "fearing God" and "the fear of God."

Having a "fear of God" creates respect and reverence for God. "Fearing God" creates an apprehension or uneasiness. God wants us to fear Him with reverence, love and respect not fright. God wants us to be at peace with Him and with self. If we are at war with God, perfect love cannot live. Obedience and good works done through love differ from the works of a servant fearful of a master's fury.

The fear of a believer for God should be like that of a well-behaved child. A child helping a parent out of love and respect without fear of punishment is the reverent fear God desires. God desires our good works and obedience out of love. When our doubts and fears outweigh our love, we are out of tune with God. We are at battle with God.

God pleasures in the peace and happiness given through Christ to the believer, but peace does not exist where fear resides. You cannot give glory and honor to God while you are living in fear of Him or while living in anger towards Him or others.

If a person claims to love God, and provokes anger or revenge, or displays an egotistical nature, they create war within their spirit. Perfect peace brings perfect love. Perfect love casts out fear. Loving God without anger and terror causes reverent obedience true peace to dwell in us. "True peace" does not exist while there is WAR BETWEEN GOD AND YOU.

We must always remember that fear of God means reverence of God! And in true love there is no fear, only peace! Also in true love, all people are loved not just a few! Win the war within by replacing fear with peace — the true peace — Jesus Christ!

Psalms 27:1, "The LORD is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger - so why should I tremble?"

Ecclesiastes: 13-14, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Revelation 14:7, "He said in a loud voice, 'Respect and honor God and give him glory! The time has come for him to judge people, to tell them how good or bad they are. Worship him. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and the rivers.'"
