His Purpose & Peace

"His secret purpose framed from the very beginning [is] to bring us to our full glory" (1 Cor 2:7 NEB).
Elisabeth Elliot says that whenever the enemy of our souls finds a chance to instill doubt, he will do it. Especially when we've waited for God to do something, and He does not.
"Each time the suspicion arises that God is really "out to get us," that He is bent on making us miserable or thwarting any good we might seek, we are calling Him a liar. His secret purpose has been revealed to us, and it is to bring us finally, not to ruin, but to glory, " Elliot writes.
How can we focus our minds and hearts when circumstances tempt us to wonder why God doesn't "do something"? But He is ALWAYS doing something! Right now I have several situations that provoke me to doubt. But the medicine for worry and doubt is to shift my eyes from myself and the circumstances, and onto the Son.
"Whenever we experience something difficult in our personal life, we are tempted to blame God. But we are the ones in the wrong, not God. Blaming God is evidence that we are refusing to let go of some disobedience somewhere in our lives. But as soon as we let go, everything becomes as clear as daylight to us. As long as we're trying to serve two masters, ourselves and God, there will be difficulties combined with doubt and confusion." Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
To turn our eyes upon Jesus is to let His peace come in. I need that. Don't you?
