Five Views around the Cross

She was in turmoil, no one had ever spoken to her like this man, no one made her feel good about herself, but he did. The Son of God, the Messiah, now he was hanging on a cross with two thieves, it had all gone horribly wrong.

I wish I had never gone into the place, I should have stayed away like everyone else, and then I wouldn't have disowned him. She was only a girl, but for a moment I knew fear like I had never known. His look; I will never forget his look!

"Rub my shoulders boys; that's better, keep watching Jesus. Just to walk with him, to feel his presence, to hear his kind words. I'd do it all over again, I was compelled to carry his cross, but along the way he told me marvellous things, life's going to be different now, keep watching."

"God help us, I know we made sport of him, spat on him, threw dice for his garments, but we never realised who he was. What do you expect of us Romans anyway, how were we to know, it was his own people who wanted him crucified. God be merciful"

"They're hiding but I see them all, Father they are so afraid, strengthen them, I can't be with them right now, but remember I have prayed for them. My mother Lord, yes John you take her to your house, take care of her. Now is my time, Father forgive them."
